2025 Braidwood Invitation Pairs Tournament.
On Friday, 6 members of the Caringbah Bowling Club—Wayne Bolton, Mark Willey, Peter Stanes, Neville Hession, Gary Freeland, and Stewart Murray Prior—for the fourth year running travelled to Braidwood to participate in the prestigious 2025 Braidwood Invitation Pairs Tournament.
The competition commenced on Saturday with all teams showing promising performances, keeping them well in contention for a podium finish. The event saw some great matches, with every Caringbah team demonstrating sportsmanship, and skill in trying wet conditions.
On Sunday, the weather cleared & Stewart Murray Prior and Gary Freeland emerged as the standout pair. Their extended stay at Braidwood pub obviously gave them extra focus & allowed them to outplay their competitors and secure the championship and claim the coveted tournament trophy, along with significant cash prizes and the huge Calcutta win.
Well done also to Mark Willey and Wayne Bolton, who secured a fourth-place finish, earning well-deserved cash prizes.
The Caringbah Bowling Club members extend a huge thank you to the Braidwood Bowling Club, led by Tom Watson and his dedicated team, for their hospitality and for hosting another outstanding weekend. The event was enjoyed by all & filled with competitive bowls, lots of laughs, and & team bonding, leaving all participants with some great memories.
Congratulations again to Stewart and Gary on their tournament victory and well done to all Caringbah representatives for their fantastic efforts in representing the club!
