Roles & Responsibilities of Umpires
Umpires play an important role in ensuring that all matches at Caringbah Bowling & Recreation Club are conducted fairly, professionally and in accordance with the Laws of the Sport of Bowls.
Our umpires are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the game and supporting the smooth operation of club competitions and events.
Umpires at Caringbah are responsible for:
- ✔ Ensuring fair play and that all matches are conducted in accordance with the Laws of the Sport of Bowls.
- ✔ Making impartial decisions when called upon to resolve disputes or clarify rule interpretations during play.
- ✔ Maintaining a professional presence on the green while promoting sportsmanship, respect and the spirit of the game.
- ✔ Supporting the smooth running of competitions, including assisting players and officials with match procedures when required.
Important: The umpire’s decision during a match is final in accordance with the Laws of the Sport of Bowls.
At Caringbah we greatly value the contribution of our umpires, whose knowledge, fairness and commitment help ensure that our competitions are played in the true spirit of the game.

Certification / Accreditation
To officiate matches at Caringbah Bowling & Recreation Club, all umpires must be accredited through Bowls NSW.
