2025 Caringbah Bowling & Recreation Club Open Fours Championship Final

The 2025 Caringbah Bowling & Recreation Club Open Fours Championship Final was played last night under lights, in front of a fantastic crowd who were treated to an outstanding display of high-quality and exciting lawn bowls.

The championship match featured Philip Bates’ team — Peter Stanes, Gerald “Gazza” O’Sullivan and Joanne Bates — taking on Stewart Murray-Prior’s team of Gary Freeland, Paul Inglis and Candice Murphy in what proved to be a highly competitive and entertaining contest.

The match was tightly contested through the early stages, with scores close at the turn of the 10th end. From that point, Philip Bates’ team lifted another gear, applying sustained pressure and producing a series of decisive winning ends to establish control of the match. Their consistency and teamwork ultimately saw them claim the Open Fours Championship with a 22–13 victory.

Congratulations to Philip Bates and his team on a well-deserved championship win, and sincere congratulations also to Stewart Murray-Prior and his team for a strong and spirited performance throughout the final.

The Club also extends its thanks and appreciation to all players who competed in the 2025 Open Fours Championship, as well as the spectators who turned out to support the event, creating a terrific atmosphere under lights and showcasing the best of bowls at Caringbah.
